Restorative Care Our Dentists in Heathrow Offer

If you’re in need of a local dental specialist, our dentists in Heathrow can help you with your dental needs. We offer a wide variety of services, such as restorative care, which consists of crowns, dentures, bridges, fillings, and implants. Restorative treatments are important to keep your teeth healthy and prevent future oral health issues.

Fillings

If you have persisting toothaches and pain while chewing on food, there is a high possibility that you have a cavity. During cavity treatment, our dentists in Heathrow will drill into the decayed part of the tooth in order to remove it. Filling will be placed into the hole that is left behind. It is important to get cavities treated as having a cavity can lead to further pain and tooth loss if not treated.

Crowns

When teeth become too weak and susceptible to decay and cracks, it is recommended that a dental crown be placed. Crowns need to be placed over and around your tooth, so filing of the existing enamel may be necessary. After filing the enamel, the dentist will create a temporary crown until the permanent crown is ready. The treatment is finished after the patient is put under a local anesthetic during the crown installation.

Bridges and Implants

Bridges and implants are similar as they both are used to replace missing teeth, the difference being that implants are used for singular teeth that are missing, while bridges are used for a row of teeth that are missing.

Bridges are correlated with the use of crowns as a bridge contains two crowns on either side with the remaining prosthetic teeth necessary in between the crowns. The installation of bridges is very similar to crowns with the same filing process and overall treatment to place a crown.

Implants are for a similar purpose but installed differently. Rather than placing a crown, an anchor and a prosthetic tooth are used. The implants, usually made of titanium, are inserted under the gum and into the bone of either side of the jaw as an anchor. After the implant and bone have fused together after a duration of about 2 to 4 months, the prosthetic tooth is placed on top of the implant.

Dentures

We offer three different types of dentures, partial dentures, immediate full dentures, and conventional full dentures.

Partial dentures, like the name, are necessary when some teeth are still present. Bridges and partial dentures are similar as they are used for multiple missing teeth. However, while bridges are a permanent fix, dentures are not.

Immediate dentures are for immediate use right after the teeth have been removed from the patient’s mouth. Conventional dentures are for use after the teeth have been removed and the gums have been given time to heal. Immediate dentures are more practical as the patient will not have to go a long duration without teeth.

Root Canal

Removal of infected nerves in a tooth is called a root canal. A root canal procedure begins with numbing the tooth. The affected tooth is drilled into and the infected nerve is removed.

Similar to cavity treatment, filling is placed in the remaining hole. For extra protection, a crown is placed around the tooth to prevent further damage from exposure.

My girlfriend told me to go to Dentist of Lake Mary. She’d had a great experience, and so did I. I wasn’t convinced when I first went, but the staff and services were great. The dentist didn’t do anything without telling me exactly what was going to happen. Each new step was explained in detail. I don’t like dental visits but this was definitely my best experience yet. I won’t go anywhere else.

A friend recommended Dentist of Lake Mary. That’s why I went. I wasn’t expecting anything different from any of the other dentists I have gone to. But was I pleasantly surprised. I’ve already had a really good experience during my first couple of my visits there. From the front desk to the doctors and staff, everyone is beyond friendly and patient. I’m sticking with Dentist of Lake Mary.

Every member of the staff at Dentist of Lake Mary was informative, friendly and helpful. Even though it was my first visit, the dentist went out of the way to make sure I knew what was going to happen and was there anything else the staff could do to make me more comfortable. The dentist explained every step in detail. Since I was having a root canal, I was very nervous, but everyone at Dentist of Lake Mary made sure I was OK. Just a great atmosphere and vibe in the office, and that’s a first for me at a dentist’s office.
